Description

No sessions on 2/19, 3/19 and 4/2 Who should take this class: Students in Grades 4 - 8 who have taken a prior Level 1 class or participated in FLL and want to explore creative engineering through the fun and accessible world of LEGO building and programming. What you will learn: Students master essential maker skills step by step using LEGO as their building medium. They'll explore motorized mechanisms, gear systems, and mechanical advantage. Using LEGO robotics platforms with visual block programming, students develop computational thinking while designing and building their own creations. Skills practiced: • LEGO robotics assembly • Motor control and programming • Visual block programming • Gear systems and mechanical advantage • Sensor integration and logic • Problem-solving and iteration • Creative design thinking • Collaboration and communication • Understanding cause and effect in mechanical systems Interested students will have the opportunity to showcase their final projects at a friendly robotics competition - Robo Expo (in NYC). Class Information 5% family discount for anyone signing up more than one person. Use code FAMILY Payment: Zelle payment (914-319-9096) is preferred. Cancellation Policy

- You can cancel up to one week before the start of a class for a 50% refund. - If using a 6 Class Pack Plan (currently only applies to crochet classes), you must let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to come to a session in order to reschedule. Failure to email us will result in you forfeiting the session. Please be sure to email us at hello@makerhive.space - No refunds if cancelled within a week of the first class (except in case of a trial first class or if we fill your spot). - Pro-rated fees available if you sign up for a class mid-way. - Classes can be cancelled due to low enrollment. - If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, all fees will be refunded.
