Cardboard Engineering: Grades K-2

Description

No Sessions on 2/20, 3/20 and 4/3. Who should take this class: Young makers in Kindergarten through 2nd grade who are ready to start their maker journey. What you will learn: Perfect for little hands and big imaginations!.Through playful exploration with cardboard, tape, and simple tools, they develop fine motor skills, spatial reasoning, and engineering thinking. Kids learn to measure carefully, cut safely, and join pieces together to create amazing structures. Winter Theme - Things That Move: Get ready to build a world in motion! Students explore the magic of movement by creating spinners, marble runs with ramps and loops, characters with articulated limbs and moving vehicles.. Through hands-on experimentation, kids discover how different shapes, angles, and connections affect how things move. Skills practiced: • Measurement and planning • Safe tool use • Joining techniques • Spatial reasoning • Understanding motion and mechanics • Following multi-step instructions • Creative problem-solving • Fine motor development • Basic computer navigation • Introductory CAD design • Simple Circuits 5% family discount for anyone signing up more than one person for classes at the Maker Hive. Cancellation Policy

- You can cancel up to one week before the start of a class for a 50% refund. - If using a 6 Class Pack Plan (currently only applies to crochet classes), you must let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to come to a session in order to reschedule. Failure to email us will result in you forfeiting the session. Please be sure to email us at hello@makerhive.space - No refunds if cancelled within a week of the first class (except in case of a trial first class or if we fill your spot). - Pro-rated fees available if you sign up for a class mid-way. - Classes can be cancelled due to low enrollment. - If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, all fees will be refunded.
