No session 5/24 Overview: Explore the art of relief printing in our studio. Learn traditional linocut techniques alongside playful methods like gelli printing.This 10-week progressive course welcomes both beginners and experienced printmakers. While you can drop in for individual sessions based on availability, signing up for the full series will give you the most comprehensive experience as skills build week to week. Week 1: Relief Printing Basics with Legos, Stamps and Blocks Week 2: Linocut Basics: Tools, Safety & Simple Designs Week 3: Linocut: Developing Your Design Week 4: Linocut: Registration & Two-Color Printing Week 5: Introduction to Gelli Printing Week 6: Advanced Gelli Printing Techniques Week 7: Mixed Media & Experimental Printing Week 8: Linocut: Reduction Printing About Your Instructor: Emily Erwin-McGuire is a lifelong Hastings resident with a passion for art, creativity, and education. With a background as a public school and art educator, she brings a wealth of experience to her teaching. Her own work focuses on finding reverence and beauty in everyday objects—a simple chair, a flower, or hands playing cat's cradle become subjects of wonder through her lens. Sign up for the full 8-week series to develop your skills progressively, or drop in for individual sessions as space allows. We will need a minimum of two students to run this series 5% family discount for anyone signing up more than one person for classes at the Maker Hive. Cancellation Policy
Needs minimum of 5 students to run the workshop. We will get in touch within 24 hours before the workshop to let you know if it is cancelled due to lack of enrollment and will issue a full refund. You can cancel up to 14 days before the workshop. No refunds for any cancellations within 14 days of the workshop unless we are able to fill your spot or if we cancel the workshop due to low enrollment.
