Are you a STEM enthusiast with a knack for creativity? We’re seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and lead our tinkering clubs and camps.

Responsibilities

Lead after-school tinkering clubs and break camps for elementary and middle school aged kids.

Approximately 8 hours per week; after 3:30PM on Mondays and Tuesdays during the school year

Camp days and times vary and are to be determined.

Develop ideas and projects for tinkering clubs and camps incorporating microcontrollers, hobby electronic components like motors, LED lights and fabrication methods like 3D printing and laser cutting.

Train teenage assistants to run successful sessions

Collaborate with assistants to provide individualized attention and instruction to each child
-
Conduct safety training on equipment such as hot glue guns, box cutters and laser cutters and maintain a safe environment for students at all times

Maintain a clean and organized workspace so it is easy for students and instructors to access the materials they need

Generate supply lists and identify any shortages to facilitate smooth operations

Collaborate with the director to develop new projects and curriculum
Qualifications
The right person will have the following qualities:

Experience teaching children
-
A natural inclination for tinkering, fixing, DIY projects and crafts

An aptitude for technology
-
Interested in learning new skills
-
Good organizational skills
-
Effective communication skills
-
Knowledge of coding and hobby electronics (e.g. Makecode, Scratch, Micro:Bit, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, Tinkercad etc.) is a plus

College degree in a STEM field is a plus

Competitive hourly rate of $25 - $35 per hour based on experience. This translates to approximately $200-$300 per week.
