UKRAINIAN EGG DECORATING WORKSHOP
Learn and practice the traditional Ukrainian technique of decorating eggs, known as “Pysanky”. In this process, beeswax is melted in a stylus tool called “kystka” and applied to the egg, along with richly colored dyes, in layers. The wax is removed at the end of the process, revealing surprises of color and creativity. Materials will be provided, including kystkas, dyes, beeswax, and 2 eggs for you to take home.
All proceeds will be donated to education related efforts in Ukraine.
Saturday, 3/21 from 10AM-12PM
KINTSUGI
Participants will have the opportunity to learn, create, and connect. The experience begins with an introduction to the history and philosophy behind kintsugi, and how its themes can resonate in our own lives. Using contemporary materials and approaches, participants will break, paint, and rebuild a ceramic bowl- symbolically reflecting on the idea that repair and transformation can be sources of strength.
Sunday, 3/22 from 2-4PM
