Spend a Sunday afternoon exploring the printmaking tools and supplies at the Maker Hive. Explore stamping techniques, Gelliprinting and other forms of printmaking accompanied with a warm cup of tea from our selection of teas. Our instructor Emily will be on hand to guide you through your experiments. Jan 26 - Collograph snowflakes Printmakers, come celebrate the beauty of winter and create unique art using the art of collograph printing! Feb 23 - Gelliprinting Printmakers, come play with color and create gorgeous mono prints! When you print on gelli, you have to embrace the chaos and make those oopses into art! Mar 9 - Architecture stamping Artists will create the buildings or cities of their dreams using a variety of stamps and found objects! Mar 16 - Negative shape Gelliprinting Negative space is usually the parts of an artwork you forget about - but let’s give the negative space it’s time to shine! Artists will create beautiful prints by applying paper shapes to a gelli plate to create negative space. This class is taught by Emily Erwin-McGuire, a Hastings on Hudson native with a passion for igniting young minds. Emily has taught art, reading and other topics in a classroom and after-school program setting. With Emily's guidance, your tween/teen is bound to have some fun, adventurous experiences and develop their artistic skills.
