Students will then use these squares to make a patchwork project of their own choosing, which we will learn to assemble in the final weeks of the class. Whether you’re looking to expand your crochet knowledge or are a true beginner, this class is perfect to build your skills and confidence with crochet! Students will learn: Slip knot and magic circle The basic crochet stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and more A variety of granny square motifs Weaving in ends and sewing panels together And so much more! Materials: Yarn and needles for instruction are provided. Specific yarn/needles for custom projects can be purchased by the student with guidance from our instructor. About the instructor: Linnea Grimm has been crocheting for 4 years after learning through online tutorials during COVID. She has since crocheted nearly every single day, specializing in wearable garments and tapestry color work. Linnea owns a pop-up vintage shop called Cursed Objects Vintage and is one of the organizers of the Hastings Flea Market (second Sundays of the month through November) where you can find her vintage booth. Linnea’s fashion background has given her a deep knowledge of the ethics and sustainability of the fashion industry which in turn informs her practice as a fiber artist.
