Coffee & Crafting on Sunday Mornings
Open Studio | 10 AM - 12 PM | All Ages
Description
Grab a coffee or pastry from Antoinette’s and stop by for a morning of crafting with Emily. Perfect for families looking to do something fun on a cold Sunday morning. We have four upcoming sessions with fun themes for each one: Jan 19 - Wood Snake - Come celebrate the Lunar New Year with us and have your young crafter create a nifty slithering snake! This project will use lots of different collage materials and paint markers to create a unique snake covered in interesting textures and colors! Feb 2 - 3D Collage Faces - Young crafters will explore how to creatively assemble all the elements of a face using cardboard and other collage materials. Crafters will have to creatively use the cardboard to create all the shapes they see in a face- there are more shapes than you think! Feb 16 - City Builders - Calling all architects! Young crafters will be inspired by unconventional materials like straws, cardboard, beads, and more to build unique miniature cities. What will be in their city, and what will they use to create it? Mar 2 - Wiggly sculptures! - Have you ever seen a wiggly sculpture? Young crafters will create abstract sculptures using paper and glue that bounce and jiggle! Oh and of course there will be fun materials like sequins and pompoms to add pizzazz! This class is taught by Emily Erwin-McGuire, a Hastings on Hudson native with a passion for igniting young minds. Emily has taught art, reading and other topics in a classroom and after-school program setting. With Emily's guidance, your tween/teen is bound to have some fun, adventurous experiences and develop their artistic skills.
